The Rock is specifically designed to get young men and women involved in the process of doing church. It is designed to train and equip them and give them opportunity and important involvement in the work of God, using their unique talents and gifts. It is on the job training and learning while they are doing. It is not designed to be run by proffessionals with every program neatly and perfectly in place.
We are not interested in being just a cool church, the latest and greatest. We are striving to develop men and women who are whole-heartedly committed to the cause of Christ, who are committed to Great Commission values, who are not interested in church hopping and shopping, but are truly committed to their brothers and sisters in the local church, living out Christ's call on our lives. Who are striving to live out godly, holy lives in accordance with God's Word.
The local church is the missionary organization of God, commissioned by God to reach the world with the Gospel. Missionaries live life differently than the rest of the world. They make great sacrifices in their life in order to fulfill their mission. We recognize that we have been sent by God! As a missionary church, we strive to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the young people of the Twin Cities in a meaningful and relavent way using personal and collective outreach, kindness projects, compassion projects, friendship with seekers, music, and weekend services. Winning people to Christ is one of our primary objectives.
We do not want to have just one missionary outpost, but many. Our strategy is not grow one big church, but to plant churches that will grow and plant more churches. We are striving to think outside the box to plant new churchs in the most economical and effective ways possible, where Christ is needed most. We desire to plant churchs where others may not be willing to go.
